The Tea Garden
The Tea Garden is perfectly located at the southern end of the circular walk route, just a few minutes away from the stunning Gylen Castle. We serve hearty soups, homemade breads and a selection of delicious cakes to accompany fairtrade teas and coffees to energise you on a walk round this amazing island.
Daily specials always have a nod to traditional, local or seasonal produce where we hope to entice you with classics like Stovies or Smoked Salmon Pate and when available, local beef or lamb reared on Kerrera. Our homemade organic sourdough bread is used throughout the menu and is a hybrid of the classic white sandwich loaf but made using a rye sourdough starter.
As much as possible, all the eggs in all of our cakes, tarts, flans and specials come from the island, where they are as free to roam as we are, otherwise our eggs come from Balvicar Farm on Seil island. You can see the island from the Byre window...feel free to give them a wee wave!
The Tea Garden is open from the start of the Scottish Easter Holidays (usually the first weekend in April) til September, 7 days a week, from 10:30am until 4:30pm. (Lunch served between 12 and 3:30pm)
Groups Welcome (But please let us know!)
We regularly welcome larger groups of all shapes and sizes from geology students to rambling nurses. A wee bit of advance notice helps greatly and lets us get prepared, so please contact us and let us know you’re coming! 01631 566367
